Anja Eriksen was honored to present her work in the 2025 exhibition Florilegium Ornamentum by curator Nina Hald at Tage Andersen’s gallery-boutique in Ny Adelgade, Copenhagen.
The exhibition celebrates the artistry of 41 goldsmiths and jewelry designers, each crafting a pair of earrings inspired by flowers, plants, or fruits. Rooted in the tradition of florilegia—Renaissance botanical books that illustrated plants for their aesthetic rather than practical value—the collection is a poetic tribute to nature’s beauty.
Anja’s contribution, Fecunditas, draws inspiration from the mistletoe (Viscum), a symbol of fertility and renewal. Through material choices and form, she translates the plant’s essence into jewelry, working with fine silver (999 silver), 13 round moonstones (6 mm), and 36 Top Wesselton/VVS diamonds (totaling 0.65 ct).
The two-piece earrings reflect the transformation of the mistletoe’s structure. Initially exploring its dried, curling form, Anja experimented with pressing and imprinting the leaves, ultimately capturing their delicate texture in silver. The mistletoe berries are reimagined as moonstones, while diamonds evoke the fleeting sparkle of winter morning frost. The earrings can be worn with or without their branches, offering versatility in their expression.
Florilegium Ornamentum runs from February 1 to March 30, 2025, inviting visitors into Tage Andersen’s poetic and wondrous universe, where jewelry and botanical forms intertwine.
